Incredibleminds Afterschool Career Roleplaying Program

IncredibleMinds offers experiential and immersive STEM career education to minority youth. The program addresses three critical educational needs: strengthening the STEM pipeline, targeting under-served locations and offering parental career guidance. We achieve this through the innovative use of video games, modeling and simulation tools and an extensible career roleplaying framework. This whitepaper was originally written for the NASA education team.

Department of Energy Real World Challenge

Nothing inspires innovation and collaboration like a great challenge. The Real World Challenge offer teams of middle school and high school students the opportunity to solve “real world” science, engineering and technology problems faced by industry. We developed the Real World Challenge Program for the U.S. DoE Office of Workforce Development for Scientists and Teachers.

Culture of Exploration Whitepaper

This whitepaper supports our presentation, which was given at the National Academies. We argue that we should use “Serious Game” technologies to inspire the American public and the next generation of space explorers, scientists and engineers. This work was part of a larger effort that resulted in NASA’s current Massively Multiplayer Online Game.
